Coopermycin

Description
Coopermycin 10%. is an antibacterial injection for the treatment of a wide range bacterial, mycoplasmal and protozoal infections in cattle sheep, goats and pigs.

Composition
Each ml contains: oxytetracycline (as magnesium complex ) 100mg

Presentation

Coopermycin 10% injectable solution is a sterile, clear yellow to amber solution for parenteral administration.

Indications
Intramuscular injection of Coopermycin 10% results in a rapid attainment of maximum blood levels of oxytetracycline. This makes the product suitable for the treatment of acute infections.

Cattle.
Actinobacillosis, calf diphtheria, foul-in-the-foot, navel and joint-ill, supportive therapy in mastitis, metritis, pasteurellosis, pneumonia, wound infections, streptothricosis, anaplasmosis and heartwater.

Sheep.
Footrot, mastitis, metritis, navel and joint-ill, pneumonia, chlamydiosis, wound infections abscesses and post-parturient & post-operative infections.

Dosage and administration.
The recommended dose rate is 1ml per 10kg bodyweight by deep intramuscular injection.
Maximum recommended dose at any one site:
Cattle: 20ml
Sheep: 5ml.

Precautions
Coopermycin 10% is not recommended for use in horses, dogs or cats.
The use of tetracyclines during the periods of tooth development, including late pregnancy, may lead tooth discolouration.
Once a vial has been broached, the contents should be used within 4 weeks. When exposed to air, the solution may darken but the potency will be unchanged.
Do not dilute.
Tetracycline and solutions of divalent and trivalent cations, such as calcium and iron, must not be mixed in the same syringe for simultaneous administration.
Withdrawal periods: Meat: 21 days
Milk: 5 days

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light.
Do not freeze.
