
Estrumate
Description
A hormonal preparation for the control of Oestrus and treatment of specific
reproductive disorders in cattle and horses.
Compositions
Each ml contains:
Cloprostenol Sodium BP (vet) 263 mcg (equivalent to 250 mcg Cloprestonol)
Estrumate injection is a clear, colourless, aqueous sterile solution.
Indications
Estrumate contains Cloprostenol, a Rostaglandin analogue which is a highly
potent leuteolylic agent of exceptionally low toxity.
Cattle: Treatment of suboestors, induction of parturition, termination of normal
and abnormal pregnancy treatment of Ovarian Internal cysts ad chronic endometrtis.
Also used in a variety of management and controlled breeding programmes in
cows and heifers.
Mare: Used in termination of persistent diestors, Pseudo pregnancy treatment
of lactation auoeston establishing oestrus cycles and planning estrus in broad
mares as in aid to stud management.
Note: There is a refractory period of 4 to 5 days after ovulation when cattle
and horses are insensitive to the luteolytic effect of Prostagladins.
Dosage and Administration
Cattle -2 ml
Ponies and Donkeys -0.5ml to 1.0ml
Thourough breds, hunters and heavy horses -1 to 2.0 ml
Administer by intramuscular injection observing normal aseptic precautions.
Precautions
Do not administer to pregnant animals unless the objective is to terminate
the pregnancy.
Meat withdrawal in cattle - 4 days
Do not use in horses intended for human consumption.
Women of child bearing age, asthmatics and persons with with bronchial or other
respiratory problems should avoid.
